A Generational Investment in
Camarillo’s Clean Water Future

The City of Camarillo is planning a long-term upgrade to the community’s wastewater treatment facilities. Camarillo One Water will be one of the most significant infrastructure investments in our history.

Program Overview

The City of Camarillo is planning a major upgrade to its wastewater treatment facility—an investment that will help ensure reliable service while protecting public health and the environment for decades to come. This long-term program, now called Camarillo One Water, will modernize the City’s wastewater treatment system and expand water reuse opportunities to make the most of our valuable water resources.

Why Camarillo One Water Is Needed

The City’s current Water Reclamation Plant was originally built in the 1950s and has undergone only limited upgrades over the years. The Camarillo One Water program represents the first comprehensive modernization of the facility since it began operating.

For decades, the City’s wastewater treatment system has reliably served the community. Like all critical infrastructure, however, it must be upgraded to continue providing dependable service while meeting future regulatory, operational, and water reuse needs.

The City is carefully evaluating alternatives to identify the most effective and cost-efficient path forward before making long-term investment decisions. Thoughtful planning today will help control future costs, protect ratepayers, and ensure the system continues serving the community for generations to come.
